MUMBAI: CAT will once again be held on January 30 and 31 for those who had problems taking the test the first time round. However, many candidates who are eligible for a re-test have been left out of the CAT race.
An IIM spokesperson whom TOI contacted was not aware of this situation. Prometric was unavailable for comment. "I have been calling on the CAT helpline repeatedly in order to get a slot for the retest. On January 8 I was told that Prometric would get back to me with a slot by January 10. I am still waiting to hear from them," said Karishma Dawar, a distressed MBA aspirant from Delhi, who faced a number of problems while writing CAT the first time round.
"My screen went blank and my computer was very slow, with the result that I lost at least 10 minutes while writing the paper. There was so much noise in the lab where I gave CAT that it felt like a school test. And while I had marked at least 20 questions while writing the paper, so that I could get back to them, when it came to reviewing the exam, I found that only four questions were marked," she added.
A student who appeared for CAT at the Shridevi Women's Engineering College at Hyderabad said he, too, had not been scheduled a slot for the retest though he was eligible for one.
