Lucknow, (IANS) The Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad (IIIT-A), Tuesday announced that it would host the second science conclave Dec 8-15 which would be attended by several Nobel laureates.
'We have decided to include the science conclave in our annual calendar. Taking into account the excellent response to the last year's conclave, we have decided to make the event an annual feature now,' IIIT-A director M.D. Tiwari told reporters in Allahabad.
'In the upcoming event, 13 Nobel laureates are expected to participate,' he added.
Owing to security reasons, IIIT-A officials are at present not willing to disclose the names of the Nobel laureates who are expected to attend the conclave.
According to officials, the highlights of the conclave would include discussions and presentations by the Nobel laureates.
Last year, six Nobel laureates along with researchers, policy-makers and other experts attended the conclave to discuss emerging trends in scientific research and their application.
Allahabad is about 200 km from Lucknow.
