3. (c) Write a paragraph in not more than 200 words on any one of the following :

3. (d) You live in a hostel. You had to leave suddenly because your younger brother met with an accident. Write a letter to your dearest friend and classmate requesting him to submit your leave application to the Principal and to collect all the detailed notes of all lessons likely to be given by the teachers.
OR
Your friend fell from his/her bike and broke his/her arm. He/she is in hospital. You can’t visit him/her because of your preparatory examinations. Write a letter to him/her explaining how sorry you are ? Why can’t you visit him/her and wish him/her a speedy recovery ?
3. (e) Read the following passage and make linear notes :
The Soyabean comes from a leafy plant that can grow in many parts of the world. The US produces three-fourth of the world’s crop. The yellow soyabean may not look like much, but it is a power house bean. Oil from the bean is used in cooking and salad oils, and margarine. The bean itself can be used like a vegetable. Soyabean foods taste good and are healthful. They have twice the proteins red mean and milk have. Milk and meat are costly these days. So families can use soyabeans to have a healthy and cheaper diet.
3. (f) Write an E-mail to your friend in Bangalore inviting him to attend the marriage ceremony of your brother. Describe the day, date and the venue where the marriage function would be solemnized. Use the short forms wherever possible.
