GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS 1.    All the questions are compulsory. 2.    The question paper consist of 29 questions divided into three section A, B and C. Section A comprises of 10 questions of one mark each, section B comprises of 12 questions of four marks each and section C comprises of seven questions of six marks each. 3.    All questions in Section A are to be answered in one word, one sentence or as per the exact requirement of the question. 4.    there is no overall choice. However, internal choice has been provided in four questions of four marks each and two questions of six marks each. You have to attempt only one of the alternatives in all such questions. 5.    Use of calculators is not permitted. You may ask for logarithmic tables, if required.

SECTION A 1. Check whether the relation R defined in the set {1,2,3,4,5,6} as R = { (a,b): b = a +1} is reflexive, symmetric or transitive.

2. If a binary operation * is defined on the set Z of integers as a*b = 3a –b, then find the value of (2*3)*4.

3. If w is a non- real cube root of unity and n is not a multiple of 3, then find the value of A = 4. If 3 sin (xy) + 4 cos (xy) = 5, then find .

5. The volume of a sphere is increasing at 3cm3/ s. what will be the rate at which the radius increases when radius is 2 cm.
