New Delhi: The CBSE exams for classes X and XII for 2009-2010 session will begin from March 1, 2010. The CBSE announced on its website that the exams for both the classes will begin from the first working day of March 2010 while a detailed datesheet is expected to be declared only in the last week of December.
While it will be the last board exams for this batch of class X, CBSE is working full on for putting Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) in place for the next batch. On Friday, union HRD minister Kapil Sibal launched the logo for CCE. He also released a special slogan for CCE, ‘Know As You Grow’. This logo and slogan will be used by CBSE in all its communications on CCE.
For CBSE, taking the teachers and parents along in its initiative is the key to CCE’s success. So the Board preferred involving the stakeholders even in the designing of the logo. CBSE had invited entries from the schools for logo as well as the slogan.
Out of the 80 entries received, CBSE selected the logo sent by Cambridge International School in Jallandhar while the slogan was submitted by Delhi Public School, Greater Noida. CBSE has also started a toll-free helpline — 1800 1 18 002 — for teachers training in CCE. A special teacher manual has also been released that contains the details of the CCE scheme and the ways for teachers to make it functional.
Sibal also inaugurated a training session for 110 principals and teachers. They will be trained to become master trainers over the a period of three days. These master trainers will in turn train the principals and teachers of Delhi government over the next two to three months.
