Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology University (CEPT University) was established in 1962, under the tutelage of Prof. B.V. Doshi. It is now under the Faculty of Architecture. The programme at the School includes the study of Humanities, Arts, Technology and the Disciplines of Design. Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology (CEPT) has been accorded the status of a university by an Act of 2005 passed by the Gujarat State Legislative Assembly and is now called CEPT University.

CEPT University is an academic institution offering undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate programmes in areas of the built environment and related disciplines. In 2008 it started a post graduate programme in Technology Management to cater to the growing needs of techno-managers in the industry.
