Dr. Hari Singh Gour University, (University of Saugar), in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh, India. It was established on 18th July 1946 by Dr. Harisingh Gour, during the British Raj and is the oldest university in the state. This University is declared as a Central University w.e.f. 15th Jan 2009.
The university has more than 36 university teaching departments. The main campus of the university is in Sagar City, and the university also has several affiliated colleges and a distance education wing. A medical college is being built in to train students in the field of medical science.
Facilities:
Hostel administration will provide cot, Chair, table, Bookshelf, almirah & electric fitting for every hostler. T.V., reading room, magazines, news papers, sports material are provided in the Common room. Sports ground is available in the hostel campus. University provides block servants for cleaning the rooms & sweepers for cleaning the toilets & campus. There is telephone facility available in every hostel.
If the hostellers desire any more facility that provided by the University they should take prior approval from the Hostel administration. If such personal facilities are arranged by the hostler without the prior approval these will be immediately stopped & the items will be confiscated. It is not permitted to take any personal work from the block servants.
