Guru Ghasidas University (GGU) is located at Bilaspur and is one of the two universities in Chhattisgarh State - India. Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya, is a Central University of India established under Central Universities Act 2009, No. 25 of 2009, was formally inaugurated on June 16, 1983.
GGU is an active member of the Association of Indian Universities and Association of Commonwealth Universities. The National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC) has accredited the University as B+ .
It has several University Teaching Department (UTDs) on its campuses and about 125 colleges affiliated to it. The University is a residential cum affiliating institution, having its jurisdiction spread over Bilaspur Revenue Division of the state of Chhattisgarh.
