World's top handset major Nokia has bolstered its touchscreen line-up with the addition of two new handsets -- Nokia 5530 XpressMusic and Nokia 5230 -- in the Indian market.
Triggering competition in the touch segment, the latest additions are low-priced compared to the likes of Samsung, HTC and Sony Ericsson.
Here's looking into the specs sheet of Nokia 5530 XpressMusic and Nokia 5230.
Nokia 5530 XpressMusic
Successor to the popular Nokia 5800, Nokia 5530 XpressMusic comes with a 2.9-inches TFT touchscreen display.
The phone packs a 3.15 megapixel camera with auto focus and LED flash, 128MB SDRAM, 70MB internal storage, 16GB external storage, photo editor, flash lite 3.0, VGA video recording, Java games, accelerometer and 5 hours talk-time. Compared to the earlier version which had the option of customising only four contacts, the new model would have 20 customised contacts.
The phone runs on Symbian OS S60v5 and 434 MHz ARM processor. Its internet speed is 3.6 Mps. For connectivity, Nokia 5530 packs GPRS (Class 32), EDGE (Class 32), WLAN (Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g), Bluetooth (v2.0 with A2DP), and USB (v2.0 microUSB). However, it lacks 3G connectivity and GPS. Priced at Rs 14,029, the phone comes in five colour choices.

Nokia 5230
Another latest entrant in the Nokia's touch segment is Nokia 5230. Priced at Rs 9,389, the phone packs a 2 megapixel camera and an onscreen QWERTY keypad. Unlike Nokia 5530 XpressMusic, the phone is 3G enabled.
The phone's music player promises upto 33 hours of playback time. In addition, Nokia 5230 features a Media Bar with quick access to favorite media and applications, such as music, photos or Ovi Share.
The Contacts bar features thumbnail images for upto 20 close friends and provides access to their communication history including emails, phone calls, photos or other social media updates.
The phone too is expected to hit the market by last week of December.

Other touch screen devices
With the competition hotting up in the touch segment, Nokia over the year 2009 launched three touchsceen handsets to strengthen its share in the already crowded touchscreen market.
The Finnish maker's current touchscreen offering include: 5800 Xpress Music, N97 and N97 Mini. Its popular Nokia N97 offers a powerful 32GB memory with microSD for adding 16GB more, 5 megapixel camera (with Carl Zeiss optics and dual LED flash), support for Nokia's N-Gage gaming system and handwriting recognition.
The cellphone major recently launched a smaller version of N97 called N97 mini. Priced over Rs 30,000, N97 mini features a 5 megapixel camera with dual LED flash and video light.
