Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute (SRMC & RI), now named Sri Ramachandra University (SRU), is a university situated in Porur, Chennai, India.

Sri Ramachandra University (SRU) was established in the year 1985 as part of the Sri Ramachandra Education & Health Trust under the leadership of Shri N.P.V. Ramasamy Udayar. Ever since its inception, the institute grew from strength to strength gaining the status of a “Deemed University” in September, 1994 under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956.

Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre (SRMC) is a tertiary care multi-speciality university hospital. With over 1500 beds, 114 ICU beds, 25 operating rooms, and a campus spread over 175 acres (0.71 km²), SRMC is one of the largest private health care facilities in South Asia. In March 2009, the Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre was accredited by Joint Commission International. This distinction followed an intensive collaboration with health care improvement experts at Partners Harvard Medical International.
