The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University was established by the Government of Tamil Nadu by an Act of State Legislature. It was inaugurated by His Excellency Thiru K.R. Narayanan, President of India on September 20th 1997. The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University is a law school in Chennai, India. The University offers a variety of specializations, both at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The Tamil Nadu Dr.Ambedkar Law University aims towards advancement of legal education and promotion of knowledge of law in general. The Law University will hold examinations and confer degree, titles, diplomas and other academic distinctions on persons who shall have pursued an approved course of study in the University, University College or any college affiliated or deemed to be affiliated to the University.

B.A., B.L., (Hons.) Degree Course (Duration – 5 year)

Admission:

A Complete pass in the Higher Secondary (+2) or Equivalent Examination with not less than 45% of marks in aggregate. However, for the purpose of selection and admission marks obtained in the subjects excluding languages shall alone be taken into consideration. In the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST communities, 40% of marks in aggregate. Employed candidates are not eligible to apply. Age limit for admission: A candidate should not have completed 20 years of age as on 1st June of the commencing year, In case of candidates belonging to SC/ST communities the maximum age limit is 22 years. The applicants who have obtained 10+2or Graduation/Post Graduation through Open University system directly without having any basic qualification are not eligible for admission in the law courses.
