Recruitment for 16000 posts of constables
Applications are invited from Male Indian citizens for filling up following temporary posts of Constable (GD]) in the Pay Band I Rs.5200-20200 + Grade pay Rs 2000 ( Pre-revised pay scale of Rs.3050-75-3950-80-4590) from the States/Uts as shown below in accordance with MHA scheme for recruitment of Constables in CPFs vide UO No.I-45023/6/2008-Pers-II dated 25-06-2009 as amended from time to time: -
A) Vacancies which may be filled by candidates belonging to the particular State/UT.
General - 4867/ SC – 1528/ OBC – 2311/ ST – 787/ Total – 9493
B) Additional vacancies to be filled from the candidates of Naxal/Militancy affected areas as shown against
each State as per Government instructions: -
General - 3229/ SC – 978/ OBC – 1444/ ST – 856/ Total – 6507
Grand total posts of constables:
General - 8096/ SC – 2506/ OBC – 3755/ ST – 1643/ Grand Total – 16000
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
a) Nationality : Indian
b) Age: i. Not less than 18 years and not more than 23 years as on 1st August 2010 (relaxable upto 5 years in case of SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates).
ii. Upper age up to 05 years is also relaxable for those persons who had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of J & K during the period from 1st Jan 1980 to 31st Dec 1989. The person claiming relaxation under this category should produce a certificate to the effect that they had been domiciled in the state of J&K during the period from 1st January 1980 to 31st December 1989 from the District Magistrate within whose jurisdiction they had ordinarily resided or from any other authority designated in this behalf by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir.
iii. The upper age limit is also relaxable upto 35 years in the case of serving Followers of the CISF provided they have rendered minimum three years continuous service in Force. Upper age limit is also relaxable upto 40 years for SC/ST and 38 years for OBC candidates in such cases.
iv. Upper Age limit upto 5 years is also relaxable further to the children and dependents of victims KILLED in the 1984 riots and communal riots of 2002 in Gujarat. SC/ST/OBC relaxation will be in addition as per Government instructions.
c) Educational qualifications:
i. For Const/GD : Matriculation or 10th class pass.
Educational certificates other than State Board/ Central Board should be accompanied with Govt. of India notification declaring that such qualification is equivalent to Matric/10th class pass for service under Central Govt.
d) Physical Standards (for Male)
i. For General, SC, & OBC {except those in (2) & (3) below}
Minimum Height (in cm) : 170 CMs
Chest (in cm): Minimum 80 CM with minimum expansion of 5 CM
2. For persons falling in the category of Garhwalis, Kumaonese, Gorkhas, Dogras and Marathas subject to production of Certificate as per Appendix – “ D”.
Minimum Height (in cm) : 165 CMs
Chest (in cm): Minimum 78 CM with minimum expansion of 5 CM
How to apply:
Applications on the proforma as per Appendix “A” should be sent to the authorities prescribed below against the respective State/UTs alongwith requisite application fees of Rs. 50/- (Rupees fifty only) in the form of Postal Order drawn in favour of the officer mentioned under column 3 below and payable at the post office as mentioned under column.4. SC/ST candidates are exempted from application fee.
The candidates belonging to SC/ST however must enclose Photostat copy of SC/ST certificate as per Appendix B of the notification duly attested by a Gazetted Officer.
CLOSING DATE:
Applications duly filled in the prescribed proforma (Appendix A) affixed with recent passport size photograph duly self attested and accompanied with the following documents should reach the above designated officers of CISF latest by 4th November 2009. For the candidates belonging to Northern Eastern States and Andaman & Nicobar Islands, the application should reach the above designated officers of CISF latest by 11th November 2009.
