Announcement for Post Graduate Medical Entrance Examination (PGMEE) – 2011
The University invites application from the eligible candidates for admission into various postgraduate medical courses conducted by its medical college (Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences). The details of the course are as follows:-
* MD PROGRAM
* MS PROGRAM
* DIPLOMA PROGRAM
Duration of Courses:
For Doctor of Medicine (MD) & Master of Surgery (MS): Three years from the date of admission. However, exemption of one year shall be granted to students having a recognized two years postgraduate diploma in the same subject.
For Diploma: Two years from the date of admission.
Eligibility Criteria:
(i) A candidate, who holds MBBS degree or an equivalent qualification and who has obtained permanent registration with the Medical Council of India (MCI) or any of the State Medical Council(s) after completing compulsory rotating internship shall be eligible to take this examination.
(ii) However, a candidate who after passing the final qualifying examination (MBBS or equivalent examination), is undergoing 12 month compulsory rotating internship and is likely to complete the same by 31st March, 2011 can take up this examination. The candidate must produce a certificate from the head of institution that he/she will be completing internship by 31st March, 2011. But he/she will not be eligible for admission unless he/she has completed the compulsory rotating internship and obtained full registration on or before 31st March, 2011.
Method of Submission of Application:
(i) A candidate seeking admission to the Entrance Examination is required to send his/her application in the prescribed format which can be downloaded from our website www.hihtuniversity.org.
Important Dates:
* Last Date for Submission of Application Forms has been extended upto 31th January 2011.
* Admit cards will be sent to all the eligible candidates from 1st February 2011
* Date of Entrance Examination : 13th February, 2011 (Sunday) from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM
