The Rajasthan Management Aptitude Test (RMAT) is an entrance test conducted by the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. It is conducted for the admission into the two-year MBA course for state Management Institutions of Rajasthan. Rajasthan Technical University conducts the aptitude test held every year. Rajasthan Management Aptitude Test (RMAT) is usually held in June. The Test is only valid for fifty two unaided/private institutions and six aided/government institutions. These entrance tests are designed with a view to objectively measure the aptitude of the candidate and the general skills as expected of would be manager / organizers.

Generally, the management programs are open to all the streams of study. The complexity level of the master’s level management entrance test is mainly pegged at 10+2 level. However, the entrance test for bachelors level management program mainly emphasized on high school standards.

Eligibility:

Academic: The candidates must possess Graduate (10+2+3) degree or equivalent from any recognized University with at least 50% marks in aggregate (45% in case of SC/ST and OBC candidates), without any approximation in the Graduate Examination. Candidates appeared/ appearing for their final year examination will also be permitted to appear in the admission test but their admission will be provisional subject to furnishing the mark sheet of qualifying examination. Final year appearing students are required to submit a certificate from college/institution.

Domicile : The RMAT is open to the candidates of Rajasthan domicile only. The domicile status of Rajasthan of any candidate will be ascertained as per any of the following criteria.

• The candidate himself/herself or any of his/her natural parents (father/mother) is a bonafide resident of Rajasthan.

• Candidate has studied continuously as a regular student in recognized educational institutions in Rajasthan for the preceding five years up to and including the year in which he/she has passed the qualifying examination.

• Candidate is a son/daughter of either a serving employee or of a retired employee of any of the following: 
  (i) Government of Rajasthan (including officers of All India Service borne on the State cadre of Rajasthan).
  (ii) Undertaking/corporation/Improvement Trust/ Municipal Boards/ Panchyat Samities/ Co-operative Bodies duly constituted by the Government of Rajasthan.
  (iii) Statutory Bodies and Corporations formed under the India Companies Act., incorporated in Rajasthan.

• Candidate is a son/daughter of an employee of any of the Universities in Rajasthan or Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan or Engineering Colleges at Bhilwara, Kota, Ajmer and Bikaner, who has put in at least three years service on the date of submission of application in any of the above bodies.

• Candidate is a son/daughter of an employee of Central Government or Institutions of the Central Government including Public Sector Undertaking or Corporation and who is on the regular rolls and is serving in the State of Rajasthan on the date of submission of application.

• Candidate is a son/daughter of an employee of Rajasthan origin, service in Defence/Central Government Service/ Public Sector undertaking/National Institutes of Government of India, who has put in at least three years service on the last date for submission of application irrespective of his/her place of posting provided a certificate is submitted by the employee from the employer to this effect stating the State of origin and the home town as given by him/her at the time of his/her entry of service.

Note : Ex-Servicemen (Ex-S) and the Defence Killed (DK) persons should be of Rajasthan origin for eligibility of their children in these categories. The State of origin and hometown as entered in the discharge certificate shall only be accepted as proof in respect of the above.

Admission Details:

Candidates are required to register for the Rajasthan Management Aptitude Test (RMAT) only. Applying to institutes separately is not required. Candidates will finally be admitted to the institutions in order of merit, which will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in RMAT.

Reservation of Seats :

Reservation of seats will be made subject to the prevalent statutory provisions i.e. as per relevant rules and regulations of Govt. of Rajasthan viz. 16% for SC candidates, 12% for ST candidates and 21% for candidates belonging to OBC category.

Provision will also be made for horizontal reservation of 3% for candidates belonging to physically handicap, 25% for women category and 3% for dependants of Defence.

Test Pattern:

The RMAT test  is of two hours duration and consists of two hundred multiple choice questions. Each question is provided with multiple options/answers (generally four) and the candidate has to choose the right one. Candidates are requested to write the correct answers in the OMR sheet provided with HB pencil. .

The Entrance Tests broadly consist of the following sections:
Verbal Ability Test:- The entrance test in Verbal Ability consists of questions based on Antonyms, Synonyms, English Usage, Sentence Sequencing, Sentence Completion, Logical Arrangements and Arguments, etc.
Reading Comprehension Section:- The entrance test in reading comprehension section consists of questions based on Passages.
Quantitative Ability Test:- The entrance test in Quantitative Ability Test section consists of the following content.
Number Systems, Percentages, HCF and LCM, Ratios and Proportions, Profit & Loss, Interests, Time-Work, Time-Distance, Clocks, Calendars, Set Theory, Quadratics, Remainder Theorem, Functions, Permutations, Probability, Trigonometry etc.

Data Interpretation Skills:- The entrance test in Data Interpretation Section consists of the following topics.
Charts and Tables, Graphs and Functions based problems.

Logical Ability Test:- The entrance test in Logical Ability Test section consists of the following content.
Analogies, Logical Clustering, Mathematical Logic, Critical Reasoning, Puzzles, etc.
General Awareness Tests:- The entrance test in General Awareness Tests section tests the candidate's general knowledge.
