Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER) is situated at Kolkata in West Bengal. IISER Kolkata has been established in 2006 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, to promote quality education and research in basic sciences. IISER - K is an autonomous institution awarding its own degrees. IISER - K is designed to reach the prestigious position in the global setting that IISc, IIMs and IITs presently enjoy.

IISER Kolkata is currently functioning from two location i.e Mohanpur campus and Kolkata (Saltlake) campus. Take any bus that goes to North Bengal and get down at Bara Jaguli. Take Bus no. 22 from Baro Jaguli to Kanchrapara and get down at Gate No. 2 of BCKV.

Admission:

All teaching activities will be based on a semester system accompanied by vigorous teacher-student contact time through research, journal clubs, seminars and colloquia. There will be continous evaluation of students performance both in Theory and Lab. End semester examinations for each session would be held in December and April.
